Ryan Blaney claims Iowa fans are “very loyal to motorsports”

The NASCAR Cup garage is at the Iowa Speedway for the inaugural race at 0.8 miles track that was built in 2006. The fans have long been wanting for NASCAR to host a race at the track where heartbroken when it lost it’s Xfinity and Truck dates. But now they are over the moon to finally seeing racing back again.

While talking about the passion of these fans, reigning Cup series champion Ryan Blaney asserted that the corn-country has the most loyal motorsports fan base of all. He highlighted how disappointed they were when the lower tier series’ stopped racing at the track and admitted that it nice to see the comeback.

Gosh, I've been wanting a cup race here for a long time. I think they do a good job here. The fan base here is very loyal to motorsports. I know they were really upset when Xfinity went away from here and trucks, and we lost them for a couple of years, and they were upset. It's just nice to come back.
Ryan Blaney told Frontstrech.

He went on details how much the people in the mid-west love NASCAR and motorsports in general. The Team Penske No:12 Ford Mustang driver asserted that Iowa deserves a Cup race date.

It's a huge fan base out here. People love NASCAR. People love motorsports out here in this area of the country. They deserve to have a big race come to their area.

Iowa is going to be a special race for Ryan Blaney

This race weekend is going to be more than special for Ryan Blaney as about 80 members from his family and friends’ group is coming to support him. He is hoping to capitalize on this wholesome support and secure his maiden win of the season.

It's nice that they all came back out and are hanging out on weekends. It's definitely a very special weekend for me, just from that side of it. Hopefully we can capitalize and be fun to celebrate.

It’s not the first time he is getting this special support. About 10 years ago when Blaney was racing in the Xfinity Serie similar large group of fans came to show their love and support for the racer. This might give him an extra confidence to fight hard for the win on Sunday.
