Tea Penske Racing Ryan Blaney, the defending Cup series champion, came into the Darlington Raceway with the hopes of continuing his consistent runs. But he was in for a disappointing day after he got wrecked mid-way to stage two and was forced to DNF. He was credited a P36 finish, the worst ever of the season for him.

Ryan Blaney was fighting alongside Willaim Byron and Martin Truex Jr. to remain on the top-5 on lap 129 of the race. While the No:22 Ford and No:19 Toyota were fighting for position, Byron who got a good run, moved his way up from P6 and made it a three wide battle. Coming to the very next-corner, Blaney got squeezed to the outside wall.

He made contact with the wall and started falling down the pecking order. Blaney was forced to make a pit-stop to assess the damages and see if the team can get back on track before the DVP clock ran out. But the team couldn’t get the car back on track as the damages was too significant. The No:12 driver was furious and ranted about the poor result on team radio.

It’s f***ing killed, and I’m gonna go kill both those motherf***ers is what I’m going to do.

Ryan Blaney is mad at William Byron for the wreck

Following the DNF, Blaney shared his view on the incident and his feelings about it. He pointed out that he was fenced and wrecked by William Byron and shoved his way up to make it a three-wide moment. He asserted that he has every right to be mad as the No:24 Chevy got away from the scene unharmed.

WIlliam Byron
I was just mad I ended up in the fence and wrecked. He [Byron] shoved it three-wide under us and just got tight off of [Turn] 2, got tagged and ended up getting wrecked. We kind of have every right to be mad. And he gets away scot-free. Just unfortunate.
Ryan Blaney said.

The No:12 team would be hoping that the results would be an unfortunate point and they would be able to make a comeback to victory lane soon. Since Brad Keselowski has ended Ford’s winless streak, they now have a pathway to success they can follow.
