One of the biggest points of discussion in the NASCAR community is over aggressive racing and how young racers like Carson Hocevar are crossing the limit with their moves on the track. The veteran racers on the grid, such as Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin, and the latest victim of the Spire driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. has been critical about it. 2023 Cup champion Ryan Blaney sees a big hypocrisy in these comments.
Talking about the saga ahead of the Michigan Cup race, the Team Penske Racing No:12 Ford driver detailed how all the drivers were aggressive when they come into the sport and how they learned to race better after gaining enough experience. Young drivers like Carson Hocevar deserves that same amount time to grow as a race car according to Ryan Blaney.
He the shared his true feelings about hard racing and admitted that everyone races that way, contacts are inevitable and it’s fantastic. But there is catch, he believes in making mistakes just ones, as he wants the grid to learn from their mistake on the first time and if the same incidents occur again, it’s a major issue.
I guess in my mind, hard racing is fantastic, everyone races hard. Contact is going to happen. I think it’s an issue if it happens repetitively, like a lot. I think that’s when it becomes, starts becoming an issue.
Ryan Blaney said at Michigan Super Speedway.
He wants the youngsters like Carson Hocevar learn to from their mistakes and stop saying sorry to the drivers they wringed without any conviction. Blaney asserted that the community will stop believing the racer when he apologies only to repeat the mistake again. It’s something Carson Hocevar has to keep in his mind.
Like, do you learn from your mistakes? You can say you’re sorry all you want, but if you don’t learn from them and make a change, then everyone thinks you’re lying, and you don’t feel sorry about that.

Ryan Blaney reveals who is to blame for the controversial Nashville wreck
In the same conversation, Blaney shared his thoughts on the stage two incident involving Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Carson Hocevar from Nashville. The Hyak Motorsports driver was spun out in an incident that was avoidable.

The star driver shared his feelings and addressed the claims that Stenhouse Jr. could have back down and avoided the incident. He was surprised about these claims and asserted that there was nothing the ex-Daytona 500 winner could have done at the moment.
I’ve read some stuff this week that people are like, ‘Well, you know, Stenhouse could have cut him a break.’ I’m like, ‘How could Stenhouse cut him a break?’ I don’t understand.
Ryan Blaney said.
He then asserted that the Spire Motorsports driver Carson Hocevar could have avoided the incident, if he has made the wise move and it was him to blame for it. Blaney asserted that it wasn’t just a normal incident, but it was Hocevar running his rival over.
I think the 77 could have cut him a break, if you’re gonna talk about breaks, I don’t even think that situation was cutting somebody a break. That was just getting run over.
Ryan Blaney added.
The veteran in the same conversation advised Hocevar that he shouldn’t change his racing style fir anyone else but should learn to be calculated with aggressive moves. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for the Spire driver in the future.
