The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway witnessed some wild moments. One of the most significant incidents of the day involved youngster Taylor Gray and veteran Sheldon Creed.

With just 50 laps left in the race, Gray found himself fighting for the lead, behind Kyle Larson, who eventually won the race, with Creed behind him. In an attempt to gain positions, the latter attempted a desperate overtake resulting a wreck. No. 54 JGR Camry slammed hard into wall and suffered significant damage. He was furious over the incident and went on a radio rant.

F***ing loser.

After the race, veteran Creed took the blame for the incident. He admitted that the incident was his fault and Gray was justified for the profanity laced rant. But at the same time, he asserted that the TRD racer also share some blame as he was making some really aggressive blocks.

That was my fault, but you only get to block so many times

Sheldon Creed said.

The Toyota driver talked about the incident after the race and explained what went wring. He asserted that though he was making some aggressive blocks, it wasn’t wrong as Creed didn’t have a pace advantage.

We’re racing at the start of the run. And I knew the 00 was better than me at the start of the run, but not significantly better, right? So, yeah, I mean I think throwing a block on him is fine, especially with 50 to go. And then, just got wrecked… And just gotta move on.

I don’t know if he necessarily did anything wrong. I was just working on getting runs off of two, and got there a couple times. And then he went to go block this a little bit, and yeah, I just got into him. I was trying to pack some air, so obviously I didn’t know he was that close to the No. 17. So yeah, I could have cut him more of a break there. And I didn’t. So that’s not the way I wanted to race him.

Sheldon Creed said.

At the end of the day, it was a racing incident with Creed primarily to blame. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for the duo in the coming weeks and whether a revenge is on the table for the Joe Gibbs Racing driver.
