The courtroom battle between 23XI Racing-Front Row Motorsports was over with is finally over as they decided to settle the case following NASCAR’s offer of evergreen charters and a fair compensation. Only a handful of team owners/officials have spoken out publicly about the settlement and Kaulig Racing CEO Chris Rice is the latest to give a statement.

On his recent appearance for ex-racer Kenny Wallace’s YouTube channel, Chris Rice shared his thoughts the situation and asserted that he is glad the drama is over. He highlighted how it took Michael Jordan to step up to make a difference in the sport and how he doesn’t care about the narratives that NASCAR was losing by a landslide.

Yeah, so first, I’m gonna say this — I’m glad it’s over… So, it took a Michael Jordan to go in there and say, “Guys.” I’m glad it got to a place where they settled and didn’t have to go to a jury to make a decision. Whether Michael was winning by a landslide or NASCAR was losing by a landslide — we don’t care.

Chris Rice told Kenny Wallace YouTube channel.

Further talking about the point, he admitted that he happy that the lawyers was able to get a point that made the likes of Jordan, Jim France, Ben Kennedy and Lisa France Kennedy happy. Rice wants everyone to move on from the drama once all teams sign the new charter deal within next 15 days and get over it before the 2026 Daytona 500, to produce a better show for the fans.

What I care about is that we got to a place where Michael’s happy, Jim France is happy, Ben Kennedy’s happy, Lisa’s happy. Everybody’s happy with the decision that was made. Let’s move on. Let’s make it good for everybody involved. I think in the next 15 days or whatever, it’ll be over. Everybody will be inside the new Cup charter contract. Let’s move on and see what we can do for the race fans. And in 40 days, this will be forgotten about.

Chris Rice added.

Chris Rice used a unique analogy to explain the drama

In the same conversation, Rice used the example if parents and children to explain the drama. He pointed out that the ream are NASCAR’s children and Jordan was one of the kids, who wanted to continue the stock car racing legacy by making sure the children inherit a healthy sport, not a system that was broken.

But to be fair, if you have kids, you’ve got to be fair to them. And we’re like their kids, right? That’s how I envisioned this.  Michael Jordan was part of NASCAR’s kids. We were somebody that was gonna continuously bring the legacy. So, he felt like it needed to be fixed — or in his mind, fixed — to help the kids. You don’t want, when you pass away, your kids to be poor. You don’t want them to live a bad life.

Chris Rice said.

The veteran team official further revealed that he used this analogy, because he doesn’t want to say anything bad about the sport as well as Jordan, as both sides are part of something that gave him a career. He accepts the fact that MJ made the difference for everyone involved and sees this as the start of something better for the sport, like majority of the garage.
