Bubba Wallace kept the lead for three laps straight before coming into contact twice with two different drivers as the race came to an end. He was holding his ground right behind William Byron when he gets hit by Ross Chastain on the inside throwing Bubba Wallace back to 8th. Just before hitting the finish line, Ryan Blaney and Chase Briscoe come into contact with each other dragging Bubba Wallace along with them into the outside wall resulting in Wallace finishing 13th.
Bubba Wallace later spoke with Fox Sports stating that it was the hardest hit he received since Pocono and that it is pretty common in his line of work assuring that he was fine when the crew helped him out of the car. “All good. That was the hardest hit I’ve had. I think that was harder than Pocono,” Bubba Wallace told Fox’s Bob Pockrass. “

“Catch your breath. Just catch your breath. Tell me you’re alright,” his spotter said. With no response, Wallace’s crew chief Bootie Barker jumped in. “You OK, Bubba?” he asked.
With after a few seconds of silence, the crew chief asks again as the spotter responds to the crew chief requesting him to give Bubba Wallace some time, and after a while, Bubba Wallace responds with a “Yeah” while gasping for air. “Give him a second. He lost his breath,” Kraft said calmly. “Just let him catch his breath”, Wallace gasped “Yeah” breathing heavily.
