The debate regarding who is the GOAT in different sport has always been intense conversations regardless of the crowd. Recently his discussion took to the NASCAR garage and the drivers revealed according to them who is the greatest of all time. Tony Stewart‘s driver Noah Gragson had a go at the whole ordeal and gave an interesting answer branding WNBA star Caitlin Clark as a GOAT.
Caitlin Clark is an Indiana Fever’s player in the WNBA and has been biggest player the female sport has seen ever. The 22-year-old made huge strides during her time in the college basketball and turned heads every weekend for her impressive scoring ratio. Moreover, her impact in the women’s game has been often related to Stephen Curry‘s in NBA.
Owing to such huge fame and being called as a generational talent, her stature was also noticed by Noah Gragson. The SHR driver named her as a GOAT alongside famous golfer Tiger Woods and Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps.
On the other hand, other drivers like Daniel Hemric named Michael Jordan as the goat. The NBA legend is a NASCAR team owner, with 23XI Racing. While Chase Elliott and Zane Smith sided with Tom Brady, who is regarded as the best NFL player ever.
Noah Gragson would run a tribute helmet for Tony Stewart in Phoenix
On the NASCAR side of things, Gragson has not had a great time in the Cup Series. The Ford driver has had seven top 10 finishes, but only one of them has resulted in a podium. Moreover, that performance came back a few months earlier at Talladega. This made him appear as the weak link in the SHR outfit and the team decided to part ways with the 26-year-old after the end of the 2024 season.
This meant that Gragson would run his last race under Tony Stewart‘s wings at Phoenix for now. Subsequently, to commemorate his farewell, he decided to make a special helmet as a tribute for the 53-year-old, as he was known as the ‘The Smoke’ in the racing field.
Despite his farewell, the No.10 driver is here to stay in the Cup Series grid. Gragson would join hands with Front Row Motorsports next season. Thus, ensuring that he has a home on the field after ending his ties with the SHR squad earlier this year, and would like to make the most out of his opportunity as he would like to see out his deal with the North Carolina-based team till the 2026 season.
