The NASCAR fans were in for a dramatic treat at Enjoy Illinois 300, which had some dramatic moments. Defending champion Ryan Blaney losing the racing after running out of fuel and Kyle Larson wrecking Kyle Busch were the highlights of the day. Meanwhile, the craziest moment on the pit featured JGR youngster Ty Gibbs.
Ty Gibbs pitted for a two-tier change pit-stop, and it almost became a nightmare. The No:54 Toyota Camry crew got into the pit-box as immediately as they could and changed the left front and back tires. But as the front tier changer was making his way out of the put-box, Gibbs was already released was on the move.

He hit the crew member who narrowly avoided getting run over. He was seen sitting on the side of the pit-box with his head down on a tier after the small hit. Fortunately, JGR hasn’t reported any injury to tier changer and it seems he is doing okay, despite getting a hard hit. At the end of the day taking such huge risks is part of his job profile.
The Xfinity Series race at Portland this week also a crazy pit-stop moment
This wasn’t the only crazy pit-stop action that came this week. This Xfinity Series race at Portland also witnessed an impressive moment that featured the No:2 Chevy crew of Richard Childress Racing’s Jesse Love.
After a crash, Love came to the pit-box with his beat-up Chevy that needed immediate fixing. The first thing the team had to fix was the hood of the car that was deformed, and the crew member wasted no time, as he just jumped to the top of the hood when the car came to a stop and used his weight fix it.

These two incidents from the NASCAR race week shows how demanding the job of a crew member is in NASCAR. They take equal risks as the drivers when it comes to the pit-stops and deserves more praise and respect for the work they do.
