Ty Gibbs said he just wanted to ask Sam Mayers about him getting shoved to the fence but things suddenly got big and built up. He went on to say he suddenly snapped which caused the altercation and he added that he hopes to learn from this incident for his future.

“I talked to Sam; I was like ‘what are you doing when we got drove to the fence?’ We were kind of shoved a little bit. I turned away and when I got grabbed and kind of just pulled it led up to that moment. It just built up, built up, built up. And I snapped and that’s just part of it. Hopefully, I’ll learn from it,” Ty Gibbs said.

“He threw a couple of punches, they were weak,” Sam Mayers on the incident

Sam Mayers said that Ty Gibbs’s punches were weak and went on to say it is funny when Gibs is upset about him going bumper to bumper as he has been doing the same agent everyone else the throughout the week. He went on to say he doesn’t understand how the incident can be one-sided.

He threw a couple of punches. They were weak, so I can’t say much about that. It’s kind of funny. I just put the bumper to him for $100 grand, and he got upset about it. But he’s been doing that to everyone else every week so far. I don’t understand how it can be that one-sided,” Sam Mayer said.

The entire incident was pointless for both the parties involved as both of them lost respect for each other and the only thing they gained is hate.  Even both couldn’t win the Dash for Cash program the only good outcome either of them would have hoped for.  But it was AJ Allmendinger who won it after finishing in 3rd place ahead of Mayer’s 5th place finish and Gibbs’ 8th place spot.
