The NASCAR off-season witnessed the biggest and ugliest court battle in the history of the sport. 23XI-FRM lawyers went hard after the leadership and the drama forced them to settle outside the court, giving all Cup teams evergreen charters, alongside a hefty settlement for the two teams.

23XI Racing star driver Tyler Reddick has shared his thoughts on how the lawsuit drama affected team’s performance while in preparations for the 2026 season. He had the most cliche answer to the question and asserted that many in his crew were locked in for the prep not the progression of the lawsuit.

It sounds a bit cliché, but a lot of people here just stayed locked in during that period. I’m sure you want me to say, like, ‘Oh, man, like people are jumping for joy. And, it’s just a totally different environment now.’

Tyler Reddick said via Steve Taranto on X.

Furthermore, the veteran asserted that everyone back at the multi-million 23XI race shop Airspeed was locked in developing the car. Now they are more focused, considering all the drama with the court is behind them at the moment.

I think it just speaks to how locked in the men and women here at Airspeed are. Certainly, it’s nice that it’s all behind us now. But yeah. I wish I could say ‘Oh yeah it’s totally different’.

Tyler Reddick added.

He doesn’t buy the claims from a certain part of the racing community that says the lawsuit settlement is going to make a huge difference at 23XI. The two times Second Division asserted that for his team the legal drama is just a thing of the past and nothing significant has changed.

‘It’s gonna make it’s gonna make a huge difference for us.’ It’s not the case. Everyone seems just as locked in. So, it is nice it’s behind us though like from that standpoint. It’s done, and it’s in the past.

Tyler Reddick asserted.

Tyler Reddick’s crew chief says how the sport will change with new championship format

From the 2026 season, evergreen charters won’t be the only change, as the sport is also going back to the original playoffs format. According to Tyler Reddick’s crew chief Billy Scott, the change will make drivers fight for race wins more than ever, as each point will count more than ever in the title chase.

I think putting the extra emphasis, the extra points established with winning does still make it significantly more important than anything else you’re going to accomplish on the day…I think if you think you have a shot at all for competing for the win, it’s going to be more likely now that you race for the win, even than it was before.

Billy Scott said.

Tyler Reddick is one of the many drivers that will take advantage of the format change, as he is among the elite racers that has made a name for themselves by being consistent. It will be interesting to see how everything is going to play out for the No:45 team in the 2026 season.
