The 2025 so far hasn’t been kind to Tyler Reddick on and off the track. He has been winless this year, despite having a good car and his teammate Bubba Wallace getting in the victory lane. Off the track Reddick is going through a family emergency after his newborn son Rookie was put on intensive care unit, due to a kidney issue.

Tyler Reddick has been fighting for wins in the 2025 Cup Series playoffs, while his wife was taking care of son Rookie in the hospital. She kept the fans in the loop about her son’s progress and treatments. She has now given the most recent update on her son’s recovery after a significant surgency.

She revealed that her son came back from the operation room one kidney lighter and is still recovering from it. The medical team has informed the family that the surgency was successful and there wont a need for further treatment in the future. The whole Reddick family is more relived than ever after they were given news.

Rookie came back one kidney lighter. He is recovering and still coming out of anesthesia. The surgery went well and his team is confident he will not need treatment after.

Alexa Reddick wrote on her Instagram story.

She revealed that though the tough phases are over for rookie, it will take the youngster a couple more days to get out of the soreness and she promised her fandom that he will keep them informed about the journey. The final verdict from the medical team will only come after they analyze how heart is going respond to the surgery.

The next couple days he will be sore so I will take a break here while we get him over this hump. They are watching his BP & heart to see how they are responding.

Racing when his son is in the hospital is one of the most challenging things anyone can do. Without the support of his wife Alexa, Tyler Reddick wouldn’t have continue racing. She has been locked in on their son’s treatment and medical plan, giving the young driver the opportunity to do it job effectively and he is proud of his partner for this.

Just really proud of her, honestly, throughout this whole process. She’s been — I hate to even use the word, but locked in, honestly, on everything that’s going on, whether that’s what they found today, what the plan is going forward, everything.

Tyler Reddick said.

He highlighted how it has been Alexa, who is giving close attention to the matter and giving solid feedback to the doctors. While both of them have been going through tough times, it was Alexa who stepped up and shouldered more responsibility.  

She’s paying, obviously, very close attention and just giving very good feedback to the doctors on past history and everything. Yeah, difficult situation for both of us being but she’s been a great one.

Tyler Reddick added.

The comments from the 23XI Racing star driver shows how proud he is about his wife and her support. If not for that, Reddick would have been on the sideline and letting someone else drive the No:45 Toyota till his son recovers.
