The 23XI-FRM lawsuit against NASCAR and its monopolistic business is revealing shocking things that were never seen before in the sport. First, it was simple deals of NASCAR with other businesses and teams.
However, now, texts about the sport’s leaders criticizing the team owners and drivers are coming to light. In a shocking turn of events, 23XI Racing’s financial condition has now come to light, with reports coming in about Denny Hamlin‘s debt to Michael Jordan.
Certainly, running a team in NASCAR is not an easy task, especially with the current charter system in place. The sport is currently not in a great place, especially considering all the shocking things that are coming to light. The problems are so great that even RCR owner Richard Childress is considering taking legal action against the sport.
In a recent tweet by Bob Pockrass on X, some financial decisions for the 23XI Racing team have come to light. Reportedly, the texts talk about the team taking the charter status from the now-defunct team in Stewart-Haas Racing. Michael Jordan was supposed to pay 60% of the cost, and Denny Hamlin was going to pay 40% of the cost.
Apart from the charter deal, 23XI Racing co-owners went 50-50 in the headquarters of the team (Airspeed). In the real estate aspect, Jordan covered the entire cost and set a deal for Denny Hamlin to pay him back monthly. Moreover, Michael Jordan has also loaned Hamlin and Co. the team money for their legal fees in their charter lawsuit against NASCAR.
This news is definitely shocking and shows how 23XI Racing runs its entire business. Though this might not have as serious implications for the team, they could still lose the trust of multiple sponsors. Denny Hamlin’s image as a businessman might be ruined as he is running a business with the help of loans and credit.

NASCAR insider reveals if Denny Hamlin’s 23XI trial will be streamed online or not
The 23XI-FRM charter lawsuit against NASCAR is supposed to go to trial in just a few days now. The case will be heard in front of the judges and juries of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina. However, the people might not get a live telecast of the entire hearing as they normally do in other high-profile cases like the Amber Heard vs Johnny Depp case.

NASCAR insider Bob Pockrass revealed that cameras won’t be allowed in the federal court for any person. This rule meant that the reporters and journalists couldn’t record the proceedings and broadcast them live. As such, the reporters who wished to provide live information would need to step out of the court and cover the proceedings.
No cameras in federal court so no streaming of trial. And for those in gallery (reporters, members of public, etc) that includes phones. So updates during trial likely will come at breaks (or if a reporter is willing to leave while court is in session to provide an update).

Certainly, NASCAR would hope to finish all the legal cases as soon as possible and arrive at a positive conclusion. However, an easy decision in the matter might not be possible anymore, as the cases have gone too deep now. As such, only time will tell about how the pinnacle of stock racing recovers from the massive issues caused in the 2025 season.
