Connor Zilisch’s weekend at Watkins Glen turned into a disaster at Victory Lane. The Trackhouse Racing driver had a great run in the Xfinity Series on Saturday and took the race win for JR Motorsports. However, a peculiar accident saw him fall on the ground and sustain a serious injury.

The 19-year-old dominated the Xfinity race with a stellar victory. In Victory Lane, Connor Zilisch was stepping out of the No. 88 car to celebrate his triumph. However, Zilisch’s foot seemed to have got stuck in the window as he tried to get out. This hampered his balance, with the NASCAR star ultimately falling on the ground.

Connor Zilisch kept lying on the ground for some time, as NASCAR officials quickly got an ambulance. He was taken to the infield care center for treatment straightaway. On X, the 19-year-old thanked his fans for sending him prayers. Zilisch revealed that a CT scan cleared any doubts of a head injury. However, the Trackhouse Racing star admitted that he had broken his collarbone. This will see him miss the at least the remainder of the weekend at Watkins Glen.

Thank you everybody for reaching out today. I’m out of the hospital and getting better already. Thankfully, CT scans for my head are clear, I just have a broken collarbone. Thankful for all the medics for quick attention and grateful it wasn’t any worse.
