NASCAR defending champion Kyle Larson showed up in extreme style at the Australian Sprint Car Race. Larson made his debut in Australian racing back in 2024 and came to race in the 2025 season as well. The two-time Cup Series champion entered the racing venue riding a helicopter as he stunned all the fans present at the event.
Kyle Larson‘s debut at the Australian Sprint Car race was nothing short of a statement. He clinched the victory on his very first attempt and entered the 2025 race as the defending winner. As such, the NASCAR champion had to make a statement in the series as he entered the event on a helicopter. After touching down and walking the pit lane, Larson talked about his nerves while being so high in the air.
Despite racing in stock cars that run extremely fast in NASCAR, Kyle Larson still felt very nervous while flying in the helicopter. Larson hilariously pointed out that he had only ridden on helicopter out of racetracks during race weekends. As such, his entry to the Australian Sprint Car Race was certainly out of the ordinary and extremely cool.
Further, Kyle Larson revealed that he was very nervous while being in the air because of the atmosphere being very windy aroundthe track. Still, he insisted that his ride to the Australian circuit was one of the smoothest rides he had ever been on in the air. Certainly, Larson might not be the happiest flying in the air, especially after Greg Biffle’s tragic passing away in a plane crash last week.
I think I have only helicoptered out of racetracks probably. But, no, that was really cool. I was a bit actually nervous because of how windy it is. But that was probably the smoothest helicopter I’ve ever been on.

Kyle Larson to start the Australian Sprint feature race on front-row
Kyle Larson not only showed up to the race weekend in style, but he has also performed on the right foot as well. The defending Cup Series champion fared well in Heat 4, leading up to the Dash feature race. Larson achieved his spot in the Perth Motorplex race set to be raced later today. The NASCAR star will start the feature race in P2 right behind the International Heat 4 winner Kaiden Manders.

This means that Kyle Larson’s chances to defend his winning briefcase are significantly increased. After all, Larson is one of the better drivers racing in the Australian Sprint race, coming from NASCAR. Apart from the 2025 Cup Series Champion, Corey Day is also set to race in the same format against his teammate in dirt racing. Hence, it will be interesting to witness how the two go racing again following their brutal incident at Hangtown 100 last month.

The 2025 season has been fruitful for Kyle Larson as he has achieved multiple impressive victories over the year. The Hendrick Motorsports star will aim to keep up with a similar pace in the coming year and build on the positive momentum. Larson hasn’t taken a complete break from motorsports, even over the off-season. This proves that the 33-year-old is prepared to take on the challenge in the coming season and potentially win his third Cup Series title.
