‘What a dream come true,’ Grandson of Dale Earnhardt, Jeffrey Earnhardt set to drive the Iconic No: 3 car at Talladega Xfinity race

Richard Childress Racing has announced that Jeffrey Earnhardt, grandson of  NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt who has 7 Cup Series titles to his name, will drive the iconic RCR No. 3 car in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Talladega Superspeedway. He will be sponsored by synthetic grass manufacturer ForeverLawn.

Jeffrey Earnhardt is the son of Kerry Earnhardt who has driven in the Xfinity Series from 1998-to 2009 and he has also competed in all three NASCAR national series. He has 135 Xfinity Series starts and owns a best finish of third place with Joe Gibbs Racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway in 2019. Jeffrey Earnhardt is also the nephew of NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Richard Childress, chairman, and CEO of RCR said it is great to have an Earnhardt back in the RCR car and Jeffrey Earnhardt is talented enough to run well at Talladega saying “It’s great to have an Earnhardt back in one of our cars. We think Jeffrey is a talented young driver and I’m confident he will run well at Talladega,”.

Jeffrey Earnhardt acknowledged that it is a dream come true for him and added that driving the legendary No:3 car has always been his long-time dream. He went on to thank sponsor ForeverLawn and RCR owner Richard Childress for the opportunity. Jeffrey Earnhardt went on to say that the No:3 car is cherished by a lot of people and it means a lot to people. He once again stated that he will never forget his opportunity.

“What a dream come true. The chance to be behind the wheel of the No. 3 car for RCR, that my pawpaw made famous, has long been a dream of mine and now it’s finally happening. I can’t thank ForeverLawn enough for making my dreams come to reality and for being such a big part of my career. I also want to thank Mr. Childress for making this possible,Jeffrey Earnhardt said.

The No. 3 car is cherished by a lot of people, and I know how much it means to him. To give me this opportunity is something I’ll never forget,” Jeffrey Earnhardt added.
