At the start of the 2024 season, there was no driver who was as fast or consistent as Willaim Byron, who won three races and established himself as a championship contender. But they found themselves in a tough situation after a performance slump and many fans were concerned as they believe Byron might have peaked too early this season.

William Byron had the best opportunity for redemption this Sunday, as he was solid the whole race and found himself in outside lane fighting 23XI Racing’s Tyler Reddick for the win on the overtime restart. But the No:45 Toyota was too clinical and fast for the Chevy to pull off an overtake with in just the final two laps.

While talking about the result, Byron admitted that Reddick was too fast for him to catch up and asserted that the TRD driver did a great job on long runs to win the race. He admitted that if not for the wrong choice he made on the restart and the absence of the right push, he might have been on the victory lane instead.

(Tyler Reddick) was really fast, and his car was really good. He did a good job on the long runs, so he had us beat. The restarts gave us a chance, but we weren’t able to make the right choice and have the right push and all that. So, I’ll always look back at that, but proud of the effort today. It was good.

Tyler Reddick credits his crew for the win

The 23XI Racing driver who secured the win was over the moon following the victory. He hasn’t been able to make the final pass for the win multiple times this season, hence is really happy scoring his second win of the season. This also help him a lot to be in a better place for the regular season champion as well as for the Cup championship chase.

Everyone at 23XI did a really good job. We had a good mindset coming into today on what we need. I love running high, and I couldn’t yesterday. I knew that it was important for us to work on that coming into the race today. The group did a really good job at that, and we made great adjustments. Honestly, going into stage three we had a tough go of it on pit road, but they had a great catch. Great way to get redemption from one year ago here.

The win has put him the best position to fight for the championship and gave the No:45 number team a much-needed momentum for the last 12 races of the season. This might also help Bubba Wallace to secure his spot in the playoff with two more races left in the regular season.
