Hendrick Motorsports’ William Byron has been one of the best drivers of the 2024 NASCAR Cup season since the start of year. He won three races so far this season, and has been one of the most consistent drivers so far. Byron now finds himself in the championship-4, the only representative of the big Chevy garage.

I haven’t ever felt as bonded to my team as I am now. We had a meeting Sunday night about it, and I feel like we’ve turned the page really, really quickly. So, personally, I’ve blocked out a ton of the noise. I haven’t looked at social media. I don’t really care.

William Byron told RACER.

While further talking about the point, Byron asserted that he and his crew are determined to make the No:24 Chevy faster for the finale. He is betting on his previous experience of blocking out unnecessary noise ahead of the Phoenix race.

I’m just focused on trying to get the [No.] 24 car as fast as I can. I think past experiences have probably helped fuel that, where I’ve been through enough [crap] in my Cup career that I know what to focus on and what to block out.

William Byron added.

William Byron isn’t doing any special preparation for the race

While further talking about the race, William Byron pointed out that though the finale is really important for him, he is approaching the race the same way he does. The HMS driver is calm and collected going into the race.

I think we did everything we could on Monday and Tuesday and then tried to get ready for some of the procedural things on Wednesday. It was a pretty normal week, honestly, in terms of prep. Maybe a little bit later night on Monday and a bit earlier morning Tuesday. But for me, it was all the same prep I always do.

William Byron said.

Everyone in Rick Hendrick’s team will be working late hours to make sure they got the best chance at winning the championship on Sunday. It will be interesting to if he can peak at the right moment in the Cup season finale.
