NASCAR president Steve Phelps had expressed his opinion on how sports have been growing saying there is the energy around the sports that they haven’t experienced in a while and added that the sport is on a different plane pointing towards the sell-out Daytona 500 tickets and the excitement surrounding it.
“There’s energy right now that we haven’t experienced in a while. This is the earliest (the Daytona 500) has been sold out in 50 years. Right now, this sport is on a different plane than it was before, and that feels good,” Steve Phelps said.
The 2022 season has been a good beginning for NASCAR as they were able to successfully finish the unofficial season beginner the Clash at the Callosum which had higher Tv ratings and the sold-out Daytona International Speedway gives them more hope.
