Former NASCAR driver and Fox Sports Analyst and commentator Clint Bowyer have reportedly been part of an accident that cost the life of a pedestrian. The person who was pronounced dead on the spot was later identified as Mary Jane Simmons, of Camdenton, Missouri. The incident took place in U.S. 54 according to the authorities and the incident is now under investigation by the local police.
According to the initial investigation done by Lake Ozark Police Department, Clint Bowyer was driving westbound on the U.S. 54 and hit a woman who was walking down the ramp as he was approaching Missouri 242, in the area which comes under the jurisdiction of the Lake Ozark area. The crash was reported just before 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 5 which explains why clint Boyer failed to appear for the Sonoma Race coverage as Fox Sports then explained it as personal reasons.
According to the reports, Clint Boyer did immediately hit the breaks following the incident and was the first one to point out the people who came to help the women as well as the one to call 911 to report the emergency. Boyers vehicle sustained heavy driver-side and windshield damage following the incident and it was later confirmed that Boyer wasn’t under the influence of Alcohol during g the incident.

Reacting to the horrifying incident Clint Bowyer acknowledged that his family is everything to him, which is a well-known fact about him to the people around him according to Bowyer, as he offers his thoughts and prayers towards the family members of the Killed Mary Jane Simmons. He went on to say that it’s a difficult time for him and his family to overcome as he requested people to respect their privacy as they move forward with this matter.
“Anyone that knows me, knows that family is everything to me. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones of Ms. Simmons. This is a very difficult time for my family and me, please respect our privacy as we move forward,” Clint Bowyer said.
The reports also suggest that the 47-year-old woman who was struck and killed might have been under the influence of drugs as a crystalline substance was found with her belongings which were later reported to be methamphetamine, a potent central nervous system stimulant that is mainly used as a recreational drug and less commonly as a second-line treatment for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and obesity which can also be used by drug abusers.
