Tyler Reddick
In 2021, Michael Jordan, a former NBA star, teamed up with experienced NASCAR Cup driver Denny Hamlin to form the 23X1 Racing squad, which will compete in the Cup Series. Only the second Toyota team on the field, Bubba Wallace, who is the only full-time African American driver in NASCAR, was able to achieve the team’s maiden victory at Talledega thanks to the legendary tandem. Kurt Busch, a seasoned driver, was added to the team’s second theNo:45 vehicle, and this move allowed them to grow. Kansas was the location of this last victory.
Tyler Reddick, who currently competes in the 2022 NASCAR season in the No. 8 Chevy Camaro ZL1 for Richard Childress Racing and is viewed as a potential future star in the sport, will join them. Reddick, who won his first Cup Series race at Road America two-race weekends ago, will visit the 23X1 set up with championship aspirations. The two-time Xfinity Series champion with JR Motorsports and RCR will be aiming to get his championship dreams to come true after failing to do so during his two-and-a-half-year run with the RCR squad up until this point.
It is unclear who of the two drivers Tyler Reddick will replace because both drivers are important to the organization from a business and racing perspective. Bubba Wallace provides several economic potentials as the only full-time driver of African American descent on the grid. He also performs well, although he is undoubtedly not a title contender. On the other side, Kurt Busch has undoubtedly passed his prime but still brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to the squad.
