Charlotte Flair is truly a legend in WWE. She has an illustrious career and is known for being one of the best talents to ever step foot in the ring. Speaking of that, WWE veteran Natalya spoke highly of The Queen in one of her recent posts. She gave a nod to the 10th anniversary of her iconic match with Flair for the NXT Women’s Championship.
Taking the praise to social media, the Queen of Harts stated that her match against Charlotte Flair at NXT Takeover 2014 would always be a milestone in the women’s revolution. In fact, it will be one of the most celebrated contests in women’s wrestling history. She gave props to Flair for being an exceptional performer.
When the smoke of the Women’s Evolution is cleared, I hope the names remembered will be many, and the moments mentioned will include this match. I’ve wrestled over 60 different women, and I hold the record for most female matches in WWE, but this match and this opponent was magic. One I’ll never forget.Natalya on X
In 2014, Flair and Natalya went toe to toe at the first ever NXT Takeover. With the Nature Boy Ric Flair and Bret ‘The Hitman’ Hart in the respective corners, the two ladies tore the house down at Full Sail University. In one of the greatest women’s wrestling matches ever, Charlotte won the first ever women’s championship of her career.
After 10 years, it seems like both women look back on the match fondly. The 14-time women’s champion is currently on an injury hiatus. She tore her ACL in December while competing against Asuka on SmackDown. Amid her holidays, she is looking to make a career in Hollywood, as she was cast in a recent movie also featuring Freddy Rodriguez.
Charlotte Flair shared a positive update amid her injury
It has been months since Charlotte Flair last performed in the ring. The former women’s champion has been on a journey to get back in shape after tearing her ACL. Amid her injury break, the Queen shared a picture of herself in which she looks quite fine, giving hope for her return in the near future.
On Instagram, Flair posted a picture of herself at the gym. What needs to be noticed is that she is not wearing any braces in the picture. It gives the fans an idea that her condition is far better than before. In fact, her caption states “work in progress,” which can also be a subtle tease for her possible return soon.
Keeping an eye on her progression, the 38-year-old star might return to WWE after SummerSlam. It was rumored that Flair might make a comeback after 8 months of her injury. Therefore, a timeframe of around August–September is expected. It will be interesting to see how things are going to be when the 14-time champion comes back to the scene.
