The latest episode of Raw continued the feud between The Pure Fusion Collective, comprising Sonya Deville, Zoey Stark, and Shayna Baszler, against their foes, Zelina Vega and Lyra Valkyria. The babyfaces were outnumbered against the newly-formed faction and looked to Natalya for help.
This week, the two teams were supposed to take each other on in a 6-woman tag team match, with the babyfaces having a mystery partner. Prior to the match, Sonya Deville yelled to cut the music during Valkyria’s entrance and called her a joke. She said that their mystery partner was not a threat, asserting that whoever it was would meet the same fate as they did.
This led to the entrance of the hometown hero, Natalya, who was born in the show’s host city of Calgary. Needless to say, she received a huge pop from the crowd and got into the ring for her match.
Towards the end of the match, Nattie entered the ring after a hot tag from Zelina Vega. Stark went for a Russian leg sweep, but the former Women’s Champion grabbed her leg for a sharpshooter. Baslzer and Deville tried to rescue their teammate, but it was to no avail, and the babyfaces won by submission.
This ended a nine-month losing streak for the wrestling veteran. She picked up her last win on the main roster on November 20th, 2023, in a tag team match alongside Tegan Nox. Since then, the 42-year-old has wrestled on both the main roster and NXT but not with much success.
Will WWE push Natalya on the main roster?
Natalya’s fortunes may be about to turn around following her victory on Raw. WWE has begun hosting a lot of international shows over the past few years. This is often accompanied by the promotion pushing local stars to generate more interest in foreign countries. Although Canada is still a frequent host to WWE events, their shows are often filled with Canadian talent.
WWE is set to host Survivor Series in Vancouver. It is highly likely that the show will feature several talents from that country. Although WWE has a lot of Canadian star power in its men’s division, the same cannot be said about its female roster.
The wrestling veteran is likely to get a decent push on the main roster leading up to November. Her absence has also made the heart grow fonder for fans who missed the 42-year-old. The company has already begun doing something similar for another Canadian wrestler, Chelsea Green, who also broke her losing streak on the latest episode of SmackDown.
There were rumors that the Anvilette would join AEW, considering that her contract with WWE was set to expire over the summer. However, she extended her contract with the company last month, which might indicate she is receiving a push.
