The Indiana Fever’s 90-88 defeat to the New York Liberty on Saturday night produced several talking points. But perhaps the game’s most contentious moment was when Caitlin Clark was not called during the Fever’s last possession. Many felt that the call went against Clark, something that did not sit right with her teammate, Natasha Howards.
Notably, Howards is well-known for sharing Bible passages, and she frequently shares ones that her stepmother sends her. This time around, she did the same after the recent drama she and her teammates faced against the Liberty. Howard’s message was through her bible verse was clear: to forgive and move on.
Natasha Howards wrote on X, “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” Colossians 3:13-14 NIV

Furthermore, Howards has been playing admirably for her side this season. She also contributed 26 points and seven rebounds, which helped the Fever pull out an 81-76 revenge victory against the Atlanta Dream on Thursday night.
Compared to a seasoned player like Howards, who returned this season to the franchise that first selected her in the 2014 draft, Clark and Aliyah Boston are the younger players. She is currently 33 years old, a 12th-year professional, and she has achieved this success by understanding who she is and how to regain it following a performance slump.
It’s still early days in the WNBA for Howard and Co. They are now 2-2 in the league and will be hoping to get back to winning ways after their recent loss against the Liberty. It will be interesting to watch how the Fever comes back from this recent setback.
Caitlin Clark provided her honest take on the controversial last-call against the Liberty
During the last play, Caitlin Clark dropped the ball before she could try a pass or a shot with Indiana behind by two points with seconds left in the game. The Liberty won because of a clutch steal by Liberty player Natasha Cloud against the WNBA Rookie of the Year winner. Clark hurried to the officials right away to voice her displeasure at the non-call, but to no effect.
Clark seemed pissed by her actions during and after the game. She and her teammates were left stunned by the officiating in the last-play. After the game, Clark gave an honest reaction regarding this moment.
Caitlin Clark said, “I’d have to go back and watch. … I don’t know.”
FOUL OR NO FOUL? Natasha Cloud locked up Caitlin Clark & was NOT called for a foul — even though Caitlin wanted one — while forcing the game-saving turnover! 🔓

The Fever’s setback on Saturday has now dropped them to 2-2. Their next game is a road game versus the Washington Mystics on Wednesday, and they will aim to recover and get back to winning ways. Clark will be more determined than ever to bounce back to winning ways after the recent drama against NY.
Caitlin Clark had kind words for teammate Natasha Howards after her performance against the Dream
Natasha Howards put in a match-winning performance against the Atlanta Dream on Wednesday on the road. In addition, her teammate and junior, Caitlin Clark, made sure that her performance did not go unnoticed by the WNBA and had kind words for her after the game.
Caitlin Clark said, “I thought she found areas to circle and 90-cut and 45-cut, where it was easy, dump-down passes for her when the post helped out for her, and just finding little ways to score. As her teammate, you have to instill a lot of confidence in her, and I think that’s what we did after a tougher night when we lost here.”
As recent No. 1 overall picks, Clark and Boston are both equally skilled, but both can admit that Howard, a three-time champion between her time with the Lynx and Storm, has been to places they haven’t been in this league. They can easily pick up all the basketball wisdom that Howard has going forward into the season.
