After years of collaboration, Nate Diaz left the UFC in 2022 and has since pursued boxing. The fighter has retained his superstar status, with a sizeable fanbase. However, certain recent developments have landed the Stockton native in serious legal difficulties.

Diaz is well known for his gangster persona and for getting into various street fights along with his teammates. Following the tradition, in August 2024, Diaz and his friends got into a fight with a security official at Omnia nightclub inside Caesars Palace. Now the former UFC superstar has been charged with misdemeanor battery following the incident.

According to reports, Diaz was holding up the queue when an Omnia security guard approached the former UFC fighter to check. The confrontation escalated when Diaz allegedly assaulted the security guy. The official then pushed him back before Diaz slapped him in the face.

Given the circumstances, it will be intriguing to see how Diaz defends himself before the law.

Nate Diaz‘s animosity toward Dagestani fighters is well-known in the MMA community. As a result, fight fans weren’t that surprised about Diaz’s recent antics.

UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad is a good friend of Makhachev and has trained with Team Khabib on multiple occasions. As a result, it was natural for ‘Remember The Name’ to stand with Makhachev and condemn Diaz’s latest behavior. On top of that, he made a sneaky remark on the incident.

Nate’s gonna….Nate, right? But when you step up to one of the guys then you see what’s real. Show me what’s real. If you step up to his face and you want to act tough that way, but if you’re throwing water bottles…That’s not stepping up. I can throw a water bottle over there, it’s like it’s not stepping up. I’m right here in your face. That’s stepping up.

Since leaving the UFC, Diaz has participated in two boxing bouts and has won once, against his old nemesis, Jorge Masvidal. Other than that, he has also hinted at his MMA return with long-term rival, the ‘Notorious’ Conor McGregor. However, before all that, the fighter will have to deal with the ongoing legal case.
