Leon Edwards was supposed to face Khamzat Chimaev on March 13th, but this fight has been canceled once again because Khamzat Chimaev has not fully recovered from the Covid-19 yet.

This fight has been booked twice before and has been canceled each time, first Leon Edwards got infected with the virus then the same thing happened to Khamzat and now this. Soon after the fight was canceled Leon Edwards called Nate Diaz out via Twitter and said,

“Nate just dribbled for an hour wanting to fight at 170 against winner…let’s see it then @NateDiaz209. 8 fight win streak and #3 in the world. Let’s go if you still think you’re a real one.”

Well Diaz had an interesting comment on this call out, he posted a picture of Edwards and wrote, “And who the f**ck is this?” It’s a classical nod to Conor McGregor’s iconic statement against Jeremy Stephens.

With Khamzat out of the fight, the rumor is UFC is targeting Colby Covington vs. Leon Edwards for March 13, and the winner will face the winner of Usman vs. Burns fight for the title. Now, this is an interesting matchup as both Leon and Colby were looking for this chance and they both have proved that they very well deserve it as well.

But nothing can be said for sure because Covington called Masvidal out after defeating Tyron Woodley, and they both verbally agreed to the fight as well. Covington vs. Masvidal can be the biggest fight of the year because these two were former best friends and the storyline involved in this one is very interesting.
