The 2025 All-Star Game will be one that will be remembered for a long time. The traditional game between the stars of the two leagues saw Dave Roberts‘ lead National League to beat Aaron Boone‘s American League following a historic swing-off.
The National League started off strong and took a 2-0 lead in the first inning as Shohei Ohtani, Ronald Acuna Jr., and Ketel Marte came up with the hits. Marte’s shot down the right field line drove in the two runs for the NL.
Pete Alonso would extend his team’s lead to 5-0 with a 3-run home run off Kansas City Royals pitcher Kris Bubic in the 6th inning. Two batters later, Arizona Diamondbacks’ star Corbin Carroll would hit a solo home run off Detroit Tigers’ pitcher Casey Mize to make it a 6-0 game.
The American League team would begin the comeback in the 7th inning. A 3-run home run from Athletics’ Brent Rooker would cut the NL’s lead in half. Bobby Witt Jr. would then make it 6-4 as he had a groundout RBI.
The AL completed the comeback in the All-Star Game in the 9th inning. Witt Jr. would drive in another run as he managed to hit the ball down the right field line. With two outs, Cleveland Guardians’ star Steven Kwan hit an infield single to tie the game at 6-6. As the scores remained tied after 9 innings, a first-ever swing-off was required.
In the swing-off, Aaron Boone would pick Brent Rooker, Randy Arozarena, and Jonathan Aranda as the 3 batters from the AL. Meanwhile, Dave Roberts would go with Kyle Stowers, Kyle Schwarber, and Pete Alonso.
While Rooker managed to hit 2 home runs off the 3 swings he got, Arozarena was able to manage just one. Stowers, on the other hand, also hit just 1 home run. Kyle Schwarber then stepped up to the plate.
The Philadelphia Phillies star once again demonstrated his strength while remaining composed. The designated hitter (DH) went 3-for-3 in the swing off and gave the National League a 4-3 lead. Aranda would fail to hit even a single home run off his 3 swings, leading to the NL winning the game 4-3 through swing-off.

Fans troll Aaron Boone as the American League lose All-Star Game against National League in historic fashion
In the first-ever swing-off in the All-Star Game, the National League took down the American League 4-3. Kyle Schwarber’s 3-for-3 performance propelled the NL team to victory. Aaron Boone, who was managing the American League team, would get trolled once again.

The New York Yankees manager has been under fire from the fans for a while. The Bronx Bombers had a major skid recently and kept on losing games, which led to many fans demanding his firing.
On Tuesday night, Boone once again found himself getting trolled. After the American League lost the All-Star Game, fans would question his decisions in the game and his selection for the swing-off. One user on X wrote, “Boone bro can’t even manage an all star lineup” while taking a swipe at him.

The American League’s 6-0 comeback from this game was the biggest deficit a team had erased in the All-Star Game. Unfortunately, they ended up as the losing team from this game.
Kyle Schwarber named 2025 All-Star Game MVP
Kyle Schwarber would steal the show in the first-ever swing-off in MLB. The Philadelphia Phillies star was later named as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2025 All-Star Game.

In a tense moment, the Phillies’ star remained calm and composed. He would take his time to swing off on the pitches. Schwarber launched 428 feet, 461 feet, and 382 feet home runs to give the National League a 4-3 lead. After Jonathan Aranda failed to hit a single home run, the NL took home the win, with Schwarber being named the MVP.

The 32-year-old is once again having a great time with the bat while leading off for the team. He hammered 30 home runs and has 69 RBI while hitting with a .247 batting average before the All-Star Break. The Phillies would be hoping for him to remain in this form as they push for the NL East title in the 2nd half of the season.
