The Milwaukee Bucks take on Western Conference giants Dallas Mavericks in their first game in the 2020-21 Pre-Season. The former is known to be the best team in the Eastern Conference in the regular season. More often than not, they achieve it by setting their team up in the pre-season low pressured game itself. But as this has been the shortest off-season in the history of NBA, one could expect the unexpected.

As Giannis has not signed an extension with the Bucks, this season has to be his last with them, if the team fails to capitalise on their chances again. With their another marquee player Khris Middleton in form, it was interesting to see how they combine to play against Luka Doncic inspired Mavericks.

The 2-Time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton started in a way as if they were playing on the court even during the off-season. Having led the team from the front defensively as well as offensively, the duo proved to be way too heavy for the Mavericks in the 1st quarter. Bucks led 21-19.

2nd quarter-

It seemed like the Bucks were on the backs off their magical duo and Bobby Portis coming off the bench. With other players finding it tough to score, it was only these 3 that let the game going for the Bucks. But Doncic and Maxi Kleber started with their piece of artistry making sure the Mavs are in the hunt. Going into the half time, the Bucks led 59-53.

3rd quarter-

With the Mavs able to get a better understanding of the game, they concentrated more on Giannis, Middleton and Portis. Which made them cruise past the Bucks’ defense time and again. As a result of their fast game play Mavericks outplay the Bucks 38-15 in this particular quarter.

4th quarter-

One thing was for sure, both teams were reluctant to shoot from behind the arc. Having a low scoring % as well, the Mavs were able to convert more from downtown as well as from Free-throws. But with just over a minute remaining Mavs led by just 9 points. Although D.J Wilson kept trying, it was evidently not enough. Heading into the last minute of the game the result seemed clear, Dallas Mavericks beat Milwaukee Bucks 112-102.
