Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant

In their first pre-season game for both franchise, Brooklyn Nets beat Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook less Washington Wizards. This was the first time that fanatics could witness Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant playing alongside each other. The duo even lived up to the hype they created. On the other hand, for the Wizards their marquee duo did not step onto the court.

But even without Beal and Westbrook, the Wizard showed promising signs young Rui Hachimura and Raul Neto. Each of the 5 starters for the Wizards were impressive. But Irving-Durant led Nets proved to be just enough for the Wizards.

1st quarter-

The game started with Kyrie Irving, Spencer Dinwiddie and Kevin Durant combining well. Not only just scoring dunks and free-throws. But also combining well, what the Nets fanatics were eager to see from their duo. The Wizards were relatively slow to start their proceedings. As a result, Nets led the 1st quarter 20-38.

2nd quarter-

The 2nd quarter was all about the Wizards picking up their pace. With Nets showing no signs of slowing down, even the Wizards started registering points against their name in formidable fashion. Wizards somehow was able to close the gap to an 18-point lead going into the half, the Nets led 50-68.

3rd quarter-

As the game started and the Nets benched their marquee players, the Wizards went all guns blazing looking to capitalise on the situation. With help from their bench also, the Wizards came perfectly back into the game. While the Nets wanted to slow the proceedings, the Wizards made most of their chances in the 3rd quarter. Heading into the last quarter the Wizards trailed by only 6 points.

4th quarter-

The last quarter was all about the Nets resistance. They not only scored points, but also stood their ground defensively. In such a low-pressure game, all one could do is try, which the Wizards did. Given the Brooklyn Nets accuracy from behind the arc as well, they won the game 114-119.
