NBA 2020-21 Pre-season- Theo Maledon impressive in Oklahoma City Thunder’s victory against San Antonio Spurs 121-108

San Antonio Spurs were be itching to bounce back positively on the court since their first pre-season game against Oklahoma City Thunder. After missing the playoffs last season, Spurs were not a part of the playoffs for the first time in 23 years. They even loyal to their players in this off-season, keeping their squad intact and had one of the most silent off-seasons.
On the other hand, Oklahoma City Thunder have gone under a major change, with marquee players Chris Paul and Denis Schroder leaving. In came Aleksej Pokusevski, Ty Jerome, TJ Leaf, Kenrich Williams, Justin Jackson, George Hill, and Trevor Ariza. All these players had to settle in the roster quickly, if OKC had any chance on doing well this season.
Oklahoma City Thunder vs San Antonio Spurs – As it Happened

1st quarter-
OKC hit the ground running, scoring point and even attacking offensively courtesy to Mike Muscala. But Spurs were not far behind as LaMarcus Aldridge and Rudy Gay kept them in the hunt and ensured they don’t fall behind. DeRozan however, took his time to adjust in the 1st quarter. OKC led 33-32.
2nd quarter-
Coming off the bench Patty Mills broke the OKC defense with ease. But Theo Maledon and Frank Jackson seemed to be doing their bit coming on from the bench offensively. While S=the big guns of the Spurs were relatively slow even in the 2nd quarter, OKC took a commanding league going into the half time 73-58.
3rd quarter-
As soon as the game started Patty Mills and Devin Vassell started scoring for the Spurs, alongside their starters also picking up the pace of the game. Which somehow left the OKC defense startled at first. One would suggest Spurs were giving away way too many Free-Throws, giving OKC time to re-group. After the 3rd quarter Spurs came back in the game 98-85.
4th quarter-
When your Free Throw % is 90, you know you have done well. Which was the similar case with OKC. And more than 54 % accuracy from downtown, they never let Spurs come back into the match after the initial minutes. As a result of this low scoring last quarter OKC beat Spurs 121-108.
