LeBron James is definitely one of the greatest players to have graced the game but his notorious penchant for flopping does a disservice to his otherwise Kingly persona. Some of the biggest flops of LeBron James’ career have been ridiculed for the obviousness of their nature.
King James has time and again been called by rivals and fans for flopping on various occasions. For someone as great as LeBron, flopping perhaps does earn his team a few fouls, but it surely puts his sportsmanship at question.
Following his ridiculous flopping at minimal contact with Nikola Jokic in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals, the internet just couldn’t resist smoking the legend. Today we take a look at some of the biggest flops when fans called LeBron James and even asked him to retire!

5. LeBron James vs Nikola Jokic
In Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals, LeBron James put up yet another Oscar-worthy show to his already infamous history of flopping, this time against Nikola Jokic. Just as the Denver Center was about to swing the ball at the top of the key, his arm came into minimal contact with James.
To the Denver crowds’ disbelief, King James came crashing to the floor. Lebron fell like death hit him and remained there until a foul was called. Jokic would, however, get back to James with a flop of his own later in the game. Quite the theatrics at the Western Conference Finals!
4. The Art of Running Out of Bounds I
King James is, beyond doubt, one of the wittiest players on an NBA court, and this flop is yet another testament to LeBron’s flash-fast thinking. Just as he is about to go off-balance with no space to save and pass back the ball, James dives out of bounds.
In a normal scenario where JR Smith would have just gotten the steal, the act evoked a foul from the referee. King James and his wit at work. Not as regal an act after all!
3. The Art of Running out of Bounds II
If only running out of bounds at crucial moments of the game was an art! It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say LeBron has perfect running out of bounds to serve his purpose every time. In the Miami Heat vs. Dallas Mavericks fixture, the shot clock was closing low.
King James found a unique solution to the fact that he had nowhere to pass the ball by cheekily running off the bounds. As to why the referee called a foul is rather self-explanatory. And Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle’s expression says it all.
2. LeBron James vs Tyson Chandler

James is widely regarded as an exceptional actor, especially when it comes to accentuating contacts. In a play-off fixture against the New York Knicks, Tyson Chandler set up a screen that would eventually be penalized as a flagrant 2 foul.
Fortunately for Chandler, he wasn’t ejected off the court and the review later called it a flagrant 1 foul. And as for King James’ Shakespearean repertoire, pretty much everyone fell for the act. Once called and done, LeBron was back to his feet and kicking.
1. The iconic “My Eye”
This has definitely got to be the most widely known among LeBron James’ biggest flops. The fact that eye shots are condemned in the sport of basketball is perhaps what made this one as iconic as it is.
Chicago Bulls‘ point guard Derrick Rose never truly made any contact in the process but LeBron’s penchant for flopping couldn’t have seemed more credible. Rest be assured the point guard was at least a good four feet away from James. No wonder ‘LeFlop’ came to be a term – Truly the King of Flopping.
