The NBA world had a sneak peek into what fans are expecting for this year’s finals and that is the Golden State Warriors taking on the Brooklyn Nets. Both teams have had successful runs so far this season while being the projected winners from their respective conferences.
On Saturday night, both teams had faced each other during which the Warriors were able to upset the Nets 110-106. The Nets were missing Kevin Durant and James Harden due to injuries. In terms of offense, the Warriors had Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson on their side but it was on defense where they lacked during this game.
Both defensive experts Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala have been out due to soreness. In their absence, the responsibility was left to Andrew Wiggins to suppress the Nets. Wiggins’ defense against the Nets kept them on a 1-10 run. He had 24 points with 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks during the game making 10 of 18 attempts from the field

Since being drafted number one overall in 2014, this would be the first time Andrew Wiggins gets selected to be an All-Star. Not only is it his first selection but he was selected to be a starter among players like teammate Stephen Curry, LeBron James, Nikola Jokic, and Ja Morant.
Following the Warriors’ victory over the Nets, Wiggins shared his thoughts on being named a starter and All-Star for the first time, he said, “It means a lot. I’ve been working hard in different situations and you know I found a home here. Something that works. Hopefully we can keep that going.”
Wiggins had briefly mentioned that his teammates were very supportive of him and that they plan on staying ahead of the game to win a title this year. The player has been averaging some of his best numbers this season and is more than deserving of his selection.

BamBam, who is a Thai Rapper, sent out a tweet showering love upon the Golden State Warrior, Andrew Wiggins. The Thai sensation has been a strong supporting of the Warriors team representing them to his supporters. His tweet might have been the biggest reason as to why Wiggins was able to make it as a starter.
In response, Wiggins replied saying, “ I thought it was pretty cool. He’s a very popular guy and he helped me get a ton of votes.” The reporter had asked Wiggins if he was aware of whom BamBam was and he said, “I didn’t but now I’ll never forget him.”
