Reese was a five-star recruit from the class of 2020 and chose to play for Maryland largely because of Coach Brenda Sue Frese. She also had offers from Syracuse University, the University of South California, and the University of Tennessee.

In her freshman year, Reese had a good start to life in Maryland but suffered a right foot fracture. The injury prompted her to miss playtime from December until the end of February. Nevertheless, the talented guard won Big Ten Conference All-American honors averaging ten points and six rebounds in her freshman season.

In her next year, Angel Reese led the Maryland Terrapins to the NCAA Sweet 16, where she displayed spectacular offensive rebounding prowess. It was in the same season that Reese averaged a double-double with 17.8 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. She became the first Maryland women’s player to have averaged a season double-double since Angie Scott in 1975.

For her junior year, Angel entered the transfer portal and joined Louisiana State University on May 6, 2022. She also considered South Carolina and the University of Tennessee but opted for LSU in the end. By January 2023, Reese had already broken LSU’s record for most consecutive double-doubles with her 20th double-double of the season.

The sensational shooting guard led LSU Tigers to the Final Four of the NCAA women’s Championship, winning the title 82-102 over Iowa Hawkeyes. Reese was named Most Outstanding Player of the Tournament for her consistent display throughout. Angel’s LSU Tigers lifted their first-ever Championship in program history with the shooting leading from the front. Legends heaped for her dazzling display on the courts, and Reese won All-American, All-SEC, and All-Defensive Team honors.

With a glimmering college basketball career already cemented, Angel Reese will be looking to continue her form with LSU. The star is already projected as a top pick for the WNBA draft if she decides to turn pro in the near future.
