Anthony Edwards

Anthony Edwards has changed the narrative around the Minnesota Timberwolves since they drafted him first overall in the 2020 National Basketball Association’s Draft. Playing alongside Karl Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards has been the most important piece in the team and the overall roster as he never fails to deliver while living up to the expectations. Edwards is an all-around player as he is athletic enough to gift some career-ending posters and has a deep bag to pull up from anywhere around.

Recently, the Indiana Pacers hosted the Minnesota Timberwolves at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. After a closely contested and head-to-head match-up, the Minnesota Timberwolves were able to shut down the Pacers and register a win over them. The final box score stands at 129-120. Currently, the Minnesota Timberwolves are ranked as the seventh seed in the western conference with the record of 30 wins and 27 losses at .526.

Every credit for the win goes to Anthony Edwards as he carried his team to victory despite having a sore knee. In the game, Ant dropped 37 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals and 1 block. With the electrifying performance of his, he also joined many elite scoring clubs which have names like Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Luka Doncic and Devin Booker. It took him some time in the game but as soon as he was heated up he took off and carried his team past the Pacers.

Anthony Edwards in the game became the fourth-youngest player to reach 2,500 points in his career so far after LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. He also joined Luka Doncic as the only player in leagues’ history to record 5 games with 35+ points and 5+ threes, before turning the age of 21. Luka Doncic though is two games ahead of him as he had seven before turning 21.

This season Edwards is averaging 22.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.7 blocks per game. The numbers really rank him near the All-Star conversation he got snubbed out of but still the bigger picture of winning and making it to the postseason runs for him. The team also has the right pieces around the duo of Edwards and Towns so winning a seven-game playoffs series against them isn’t going to be easy especially with Ant stepping up with the right potential at the right time.
