In the Charlotte Hornets’ game against the Dallas Mavericks, which the former won by a comfortable margin shocking the world, a sequence from the game went more viral than the Hornets’ victory. Charlotte Hornets and Dallas Mavericks faced each other once again and LaMelo Ball seemed to be on demon time as the player managed to bang the ball straight into the head of a fan sitting courtside, who didn’t have any clue of what was coming her way. We shall get into the depths of this sequence, but the most surprising part about this incident was the reaction Ball had post this incident, he didn’t even bother to go to the fan who got hit after the play, and instead, went on the bench to laugh with his teammates over the incident right after it happened.

Though the Hornets managed to get their 4th straight victory by defeating the Mavericks, LaMelo’s behaviour was condemned by media and fans around the world who felt it was disrespectful and mean to not meet someone who you hit right in the head, and then go joke and laugh about it on the bench with your teammates. Sportsmanship seemed to be taking a back seat in this incident as the player didn’t feel the need to apologise for his actions or even console the fan who was hurt.

Ball seemed to be enjoying a bit too much of the action that he was getting courtside as he hit the ball right in the head of a fan who was clueless about what was going to happen to her. The Hornets managed to cruise past the Luka led Mavericks, but the world is still stuck on the actions of LaMelo, which have been deemed disrespectful and mean to the spirit of the game, which thrives on respect and sportsmanship.

With 7 seconds left on the shot clock, LaMelo Ball drove into the paint area right under the rim, and upon seeing a lack of options to pass the ball to near him, he managed to throw the ball outside of the three-point line to pass it to one of his teammates. Unfortunately, the ball was deflected by one of the Mavs players and it went right through the hands of the player LaMelo intended to pass the ball to, and landed right at the head of a fan sitting courtside, who couldn’t see the ball coming.

The world didn’t take his actions very well and deemed it mean with respect to the things he should’ve done post such an incident, laughing over it definitely wasn’t one of those things.
