Ja Morant attempted poster dunk on Mitchell Robinson
The first time All-Star Ja Morant did not have a very delightful shooting night against the New York Knicks at the Madison Square Garden. Although, this did not stop him from putting up highlights for the crowd and the fans watching at home. Morant almost pulled it off as he went for a high-flying poster dunk on Knicks’ Mitchell Robinson.
The Memphis Grizzlies beat the New York Knicks 120-108 on Wednesday night. It was the 36th win for the Grizzlies this season as they now are 36-18, the 3rd best record in the entire league. The New York Knicks on the other hand is the 4th worst team in the Eastern Conference with a poor 24-28 season record thus far.

The Memphis Grizzlies proved in this game that they are much more than just their All-Star Ja Morant. Morant, who scored 23, going a horrible 9-27 from the field, clearly not having a good night on that front. Jaren Jackson Jr. stepped up as he scored a team-high of 26 points. The Grizzlies got contributions of 21 from Zaire Williams and 13 from Desmond Bane.

Ja Morant tries a wild dunk over Mitchell Robinson
The Grizzlies had almost sealed the victory when Ja Morant decided to go for some showtime plays. During the 4th quarter, with 1:54 remaining in the game, Morant used his quick speed to blow by past the defender and took off to hammer in a monstrous dunk.
The Knicks’ Mitchell Robinson however stood in Morant’s way mid-air who tried to contest the dunk. Robinson was successful as Morant couldn’t put him on a poster. But, in the process, Morant earned a foul call and a chance to shoot two free throws.
Robinson had a great night though, blocking eight shots in total, and four of them included Ja Morant’s shots. Robinson after the game said on this play – “That was a great play right there. “I just went vertical. Whatever happens, happens. I’ve seen a lot of videos. I was just waiting to see when he’d do that to me, and he tried it”. Twitter fans were in awe of Ja Morant’s high-flying abilities and his fearless approach to the game:
