Michael Jordan and Isiah Thomas

Michael Jordan and Isiah Thomas both are greats of the game as they make it to the NBA 75 list. But the rivalry between the two is still continued even after thirty-plus years as they ghost each other at the celebration of NBA 75. The 90s’ Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls were the real rivals of their era as Michael Jordan and Isiah Thomas would always go head to head in their every match-up just trying to get the win over each other.

Michael Jordan before he overcame the “Bad Boys” Detroit Pistons and won six championships while getting two three-peats. Would always be beaten up by the Pistons whenever they faced each other in any of their match-ups from play-off series to regular-season games. But it wasn’t continued as Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls under the brilliant coaching of Phil Jackson came up with many strategies focusing around Jordan and soon were the better one if compared.

The rivalry between the two started early in the 90s as Michael and the Chicago Bulls handed a clean sweep to Isiah Thomas led Detroit Pistons in the eastern conference finals. Further, the best point guard of the league Isiah was snubbed out of the 1992 Olympics’ Dream Team with rumors of Jordan and Scottie Pippen not wanting him on the board as they don’t want to play with him. Even Michael Jordan’s documentary “The Last Dance” made the rivalry very clear as he in an episode discussing the Bad Boys of Detroit quoted: “I hate them. The hate carries to this day.”

Isiah Thomas and Michael Jordan both were present in the NBA 75 ceremony where the league honored the seventy-five all-time great players of the league. A clip of the two still hating on each other as they enter the venue to step on the stage stands viral where they ghost each other as strangers. Both the players have really taken it personally as none of them even initiated a talk or conversation in all these decades to move on from the rivalry as they have retired from the sport.

In the video, Isiah Thomas is seen talking with Magic Johnson for some time and even showing him some respect as they dab each other up. But Thomas totally shows no respect to Jordan standing right behind Magic Johnson as talking with Magic he leaves to step on the stage and both the superstars end up ghosting each other which shows the hate between the two is still there and alive.
