Harden, like everyone else in the world is excitedly waiting for March Madness to begin, and just like the term “madness” everyone is going in a frenzy for the arrival of that time of the year. The pinnacle of basketball is the NCAA organised Men’s and Women’s basketball tournament, which is usually held in the time between mid-march through the beginning of April. The term Madness in itself is an explanation of how big of an event it is, and how people react to it being held every time. For hardcore basketball fans, the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) organised tournament is way more than just college basketball, it is a series of bubble teams, brackets, and buzzer beaters, all leading to endless hype and excitement.
The term madness perfectly caters to the hype revolving around the tournament during its onset. With several teams all around the USA fighting to get a spot in the tournament, the ”Big Dance” is a massive event, amassing great enthusiasm from everyone.
To give you a short explanation of what the Tournament format is, The NCAA college basketball tournament is a single-elimination tournament that features 68 teams vying to survive three weekends of games to be crowned the national champions. The field used to be 64 teams, but the NCAA has recently added four more teams that play “play in” games to earn a spot in the final field of 64.
With a fixed span of three weeks, only 16 teams (the “Sweet Sixteen”) make it past the first weekend. The second weekend narrows the field first to the “Elite Eight” and then the “Final Four. The final weekend focuses on the four semi-finalists. The two semi-final victors move on to play in the national championship game.

A song that defined the decade was nothing less than an exciting lyric for James Harden to take notes from as the player found a perfect representation of his feelings in its lyrics.
James Harden himself has had an exciting career during College Basketball, earning a name for himself since his college days, which were legendary, just like the song. Harden was an elite player in his college days, stuck with a team which didn’t have the same calibre as that of the player. Harden played for Arizona State which made appearances in National Invitation Tournament and the NCAA tournament during his time in college. But his team, the Sun Devils failed to make it past the third round of either tournament.

Harden was such a star at Arizona State that the school retired his No. 13 jersey despite him playing just two seasons at the school. He still remains one of the greatest players to be a part of Arizona State, making him worthy of the treatment that he received.
