“Best trade of the season” CJ McCollum makes Pelicans go berserk after draining long-range 3-pointer vs Spurs
CJ McCollum
CJ McCollum was a star back there at Portland Trailblazers playing alongside Damian Lillard. But unfortunate events in the franchise where they were tilting towards rebuilding and had rumors regarding parting ways with Damian Lillard got him traded as they in exchange for the veteran got some young core to build around and establish themselves again. But nothing so far has changed for CJ McCollum as he is still a veteran leader at the New Orleans Pelicans. His addition to the roster has changed the environment completely and they now stand in the play-in tournament with already capturing a win for themselves to advance further.
Recently, the New Orleans Pelicans hosted the San Antonio Spurs at Smoothie King Center. The game was closely contested and head to head but the scoring greats of CJ McCollum and Brandon Ingram outshined the San Antonio Spurs and got the job done. The final box score stands at 113-103 favoring the New Orleans Pelicans. The Pelicans have now advanced in the Play-in tournament and will be facing the Los Angeles Clippers for the 8th seed match-up to make it to the postseason and continue their run instead of calling a wrap.
In the game, CJ McCollum dropped 32 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds. Supporting him was Brandon Ingram with 27 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds. As of now, CJ McCollum trends on the internet for his efforts and leadership and also a three-pointer drilled by him from downtown just like he used to do back with Damian Lillard and other Trailblazers.
