Just as they had recorded one of the largest point margin victories in the NBA, the Warriors also appear on the losing side on the chart recording one of the worst defeats in the league. In March 1972, the Golden State Warriors fell victim to the Showtime Era Lakers and were absolutely demolished 162-99 with a 63-point winning margin. The fixture was somewhat iconic in terms of star power as both sides featured legends of the game. LA Lakers Gail Goodrich played one of his best games raking up twice as many points as the Warriors’ top scorer Jim Barnett in the fixture.

The Portland Trail Blazers faced one of the worst ever losses in their franchise history at the hands of the Indiana Pacers in February 1998. The game ended 125-59 where, for the first time in the history of the league, an NBA team scored double the points of their opponent. The 65-point victory was one of the biggest victories in the Indiana Pacers’ franchise history. The fixture saw the Portland Trail Blazers play one of their worst ever games that displayed the state of a squad in shambles. Their inability in offence was also one of the major reasons the Trail Blazers crumbled to such a huge defeat.
