Magic Johnson congratulates Dodgers after World Series win
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the New York Yankees 4-1 at the 2024 World Series in a true battle of the West Coast versus the East Coast. The Dodgers earned their second World Series win over the last 5 years and their first in a 162-game regular season since 1988. Perhaps the only person happier than the Championship-winning Dodgers is NBA Legend Magic Johnson.
Magic Johnson has been a huge fan of the Dodgers for years. The billionaire athlete is a basketball HOF’er and one of the greatest athletes to take the stage in the City of Angels. But that’s not his only reason to celebrate the Dodgers’ big victory.
Johnson is a co-owner of the Dodgers. He took to social media to congratulate the team after their World Series win.

Johnson celebrated the opportunity to receive his 15th Championship Ring. As a co-owner of the Dodgers, he will participate in the team’s ring presentation ceremony. The basketball legend has won five NBA Championships with the Los Angeles Lakers and an additional ring with the Michigan State Spartans in the NCAA.
His affiliation with the city of Los Angeles runs deeper. Johnson is a part owner of the Dodgers, LA Sparks, LAFC, and a former part owner of the Lakers. In his role as a part owner, he has won an additional nine championship rings.
Magic Johnson congratulates World Series MVP
Magic Johnson didn’t just stop with the congratulatory messages for his Dodgers team. The youngest NBA Finals MVP, Johnson, took the time to pen a congratulatory message for the Dodgers’ World Series hero, Freddie Freeman.
Freeman was declared the MVP of the World Series after a standout performance across the five games.

Freeman was absolutely phenomenal in the World Series. Apart from his iconic walk-off winning home run in Game 1, the first baseman batted .300 with six hits, four home runs, 12 RBIs, and five runs scored in as many games in the 2024 World Series. His iconic performance shines even brighter in light of reports of the major injuries that Freeman dealt with during the games.
