Vanessa Bryant confirms Nike and Kobe partnership to continue

No NBA or hoop fans needs an introduction upon Kobe Bryant and the kind of influence he has had on the sport. Being one of the few sportspersons to have his own line of sneakers with Nike, fanatics all around the globe were saddened when Vanessa Bryant failed to reach an agreement with the same brand, last April, to bring back the iconic sneaker line. As a result of which the production and distribution of the same had to be stopped globally.

With majority of professionals and college players wearing Kobe Bryant’s sneakers, many were worried upon switching their style. However, on Thursday Vanessa Bryant, the wife of late Kobe, has announced the agreement with Nike has been signed.

Vanessa confirms Nike and Kobe’s partnership to carry on

Vanessa announced that an official agreement with the sneaker giant to bring the Kobe line back as well as Gigi merchandise, with Nike donating all net proceeds from the Gigi line to the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation and working with Bryant on building a new youth basketball center in Southern California.

Vanessa Bryant announces the agreement of Nike to bring back iconic Kobe sneakers 

She wrote on Instagram, “We’re excited to announce our partnership with Nike is going to continue! I am so proud that my husband’s shoes are still the most worn by players on NBA courts and that the demand for his shoes remain so desired by his fans around the world. With this new partnership, fans will soon be able to have access to Kobe and Gigi Nike product for years to come and with Nike donating 100% of the net proceeds yearly for Gianna’s shoes to our Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation (M&MSF).”

Vanessa Bryant added, “I am also grateful that Nike and I will work together to establish a youth basketball center in Southern California that will share the Mamba Mentality with youth athletes for generations to come. I know this is an inspiring moment for my husband and daughter’s global fans, and I am very appreciative of each and every one of you!” 

Given that Kobe Bryant’s line of sneakers are as popular as Michael Jordan and LeBron James’, it is great to see Vanessa and Nike finally reaching an agreement over the same. With millions liking not just the comfort, but also the essence of the same, it is safe to say that the Black Mamba legacy continues to live on in every way.
