Brian Flores bombshell accusations vs Kareem Abdul Jabbar’s NFL draw scathing response
Brian Flores and Kareem Abdul Jabbar
Ahead of the much-awaited Super Bowl, the NFL once again seems to be in hot water after recently fired coach Brian Flores of Miami Dolphins. To those who are not aware, the spoken off personnel accused multiple teams of discriminatory practices regarding race. Moreover, the Miami Dolphin are accused of paying their coaches and players to lose games on purpose. To which now Lakers and NBA legend Kareem Abdul Jabbar has responded.
Kareem Abdul Jabbar has been one of the G.O.A.T contenders in the NBA himself and acknowledged the need for taking appropriate measures. In a substack post of his, Jabbar went onto slam the NFL for failing to act upon such discrimination. And even the problem has been prevailing for years, acting upon it just now.

What was opinionated by Kareem Abdul Jabbar?
“Brian Flores is suing the National Football League and the only question I have is ‘What took so long?’ I’m not referring specifically to Flores’ lawsuit, but to making public the racism inherent in the NFL like a vestigial limb.”
Moreover, Kareem Abdul Jabbar would then go on to point out that diversifying the coaching ranks is possible, and points to college basketball and the NBA. He called NFL fans to action and says that the fans themselves need to demand change from their owners.
That being said, after Brian Flores and David Culley was fired from their respective jobs as coaches, Mike Tomlin remains to be the only black coach in the NFL. There were rumors of popular and influential candidates being interviewed by different organizations, yet ultimately none of those coaches were hired.
Lastly, the Rooney Rule was the NFL’s way of trying to promote diversity in the coaching ranks, but as it turns out, it’s not doing a great job at it, if Flores’ claims are to be believed. Will NFL be attentive enough to take timely actions? Or will the rebel only go onto increase? Remains to be seen as we approach the highly awaited Super Bowl.
