Celtics star, Tatum emphasized that the team will take it day-by-day and make the necessary preparations when and if Simmons is finally made available.

“If Ben Simmons plays, we cross that bridge when we get there,” Tatum said on Wednesday, per Brian Lewis of the New York Post. “But right now, we’re just focusing on the guys that they’ve got at this moment.”

However, Simmons would not be the only problem for Celtics in the first-round series. Given that this time around, they are the team with a higher seeded rank, the threat of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving dominating the offensive board can be put out of the picture. Having already haunted the Celtics in the past, Tatum would be aware on how he needs his teammates to guard these spoken off marquee stars.

Of course, Celtics and Jayson Tatum cannot rule out the danger of Ben Simmons, but remains to be a big ‘What if’. Moreover, it is not an unknown fact that Nets would be looking to stretch the series until latter games, in order to improve their chances of progressing.

Being one of the top 5 MVP candidates in the 2021-22 season, will Jayson Tatum finally be able to live up to his hype in the business end? Remains to be one of the biggest speculations.
