“I Don’t Wanna Talk About 3-1″: Chris Paul Recalls LA Clippers Nightmare

Chris Paul on 3-1 Clippers Nightmare
Chris Paul, Deandre Ayton and Devin Booker have emphatically led Phoenix Suns to a 3-1 lead against the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2021 Western Conference Final series. After winning Game 4, 84-80 at the Staples Center, Chris Paul finally has the chance to be crowned as a Conference Champion after spending illustrious years in the NBA. However, CP3 made sure that he does not want to reminded upon the Clippers Nightmare.
In 2015, when Clippers faced the Houston Rockets in the Round 2 of the playoffs. The Doc River led side wasted all 3 chances to be heading into the Conference Finals. And as a result, the LA Clippers’ team went home crying after Game 7. That was probably the closest Chris Paul had come to the NBA Finals before joining the Phoenix Suns.

However, when Rachel Nichols was about to ask CP3 about getting the massive lead in his bid to reach the championship series for the first time, the veteran guard stopped the ESPN reporter and analyst before she could finish her question. Paul has a good reason for refusing to talk about the lead, though, as he highlighted that he doesn’t have a lot of good experience when it comes to that.
Having said that, Chris Paul knows the job is far from over. The mission is to get to four wins, and no matter how huge their lead is, only the first team who reaches the number of needed victories will move on.

Obviously, it is great to have a comfortable cushion, yet that is also why the Phoenix Suns’ team need to focus and ensure to close out the next game at Phoenix Suns Arena before giving their opponents any momentum at all.
