Coach Tom Thibodeau reacts to Knicks fans trolling Julius Randle once again

Julius Randle and New York Knicks is deemed as one of the most unfruitful relations in the 2021-22 season. A relationship that started with utmost love and respect in the previous season has seen the tables turning rapidly. Moreover, it has reached an extend where the Madison Square Garden fans are desperate to pick upon their marquee scorer every now and then, which is surely not taken well by coach Tom Thibodeau.

The New York Knicks are dealing with their respective roster problems, often which is visible on the court as well. To add to the misery, Knicks fans chanted Obi Toppin, with the aim of persuading the coach to change Julius Randle. Furthermore, the latter was even booed when he made mistakes on the floor. Having already apologized to the Knicks fans, Randle seems to be in a tough spot in his own team.

Tom Thibodeau’s honest reaction to Knicks fans trolling Julius Randle again

Tom Thibodeau was asked about the same instance where Knicks fans booed Julius Randle, wherein the former stated that such things can be easily brushed off. 

“Look, he’s a pro. He’ll navigate through it. The important thing is to lock into the team, your job, the next day, winning, your opponent. Get ready to go so you can play well. And look, when we play well, we know how much our fans love this team and we love them.”

Julius Randle earlier stated that he is aware that playing for New York Knicks is tougher than any other team. Given that their fans wear hearts on their sleeve, it is no surprise that MSG fans are tough to handle. But is it ethical to boo your own player? Well, that is up for debate. 

Having said that, with the Knicks registering an easy win past the Spurs in their latest encounter, Thibodeau feels that a winning streak can once again bring in belief into the team and the fans. With majority of the season left, it will be interesting to see how the relationship between the reigning Most Improved Player and Knicks fans turns out.
