Andre Drummond dunking
Andre Drummond, the Brooklyn Nets’ latest addition to their team thought of bringing about peace in the arena… between what? We don’t know, but what we know is that this sequence in the Nets vs Heat game is one of the most hilarious things you would’ve ever seen in the court of basketball. Out of all the people in the arena, the player’s own team bench seemed to be having the most fun, as they couldn’t stop themselves from laughing hysterically and giving their teammate a standing ovation after a mighty play. The Brooklyn Nets had the last laugh even though the dominated the entire game and took a massive dub against the Miami Heat.
Drummond’s addition to the Nets’ squad was a result of the trade that took place between Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets, which resulted in the exchange of James Harden for Seth Curry, Ben Simmons and Andre Drummond, which many people believe was a gem of a trade for the Nets keeping in mind the attitude Harden had, where he didn’t want to play and showed a lack of sportsmanship.
Though Harden is giving 76ers the results they always wanted, building one of the strongest squads in the league, Drummond seems to be doing the same, highlighting that he is no less than a star himself, and has helped his team in regaining their form, and getting the wins they had been missing from a really long time.
Drummond who scored 13 points along with 1 assist and 11 rebounds in the 18 minutes that he played gave us the highlight of the match as he made a hilarious play, giving a peace sign to his own team, and making the arena burst out in laughter, also leaving people splits who believed it could’ve been one of the worst travels. Let us take closer look at this sequence where Andre Drummond brought the crowd on their feet, cheering for him as they couldn’t stop laughing.

It’s the 3rd quarter of the match and the Brooklyn Nets lead by a 25-point margin, which is when Drummond feels that the environment is turning a bit hostile and peace needs to be induced in the arena, and therefore, he decides to do one of the strangest and funniest things one must have ever seen in a basketball game.

With 7 minutes and 11 seconds remaining on the clock, the Heat who are already behind with a very big margin decide to move the ball outside the 3-point line with 7 seconds remaining on the shot clock. One of the Heat players tries to pass the ball to Tyler Herro who is on the other side of the court, but the man Drummond is stood in between, ready to get his hands at the ball. Drummond manages to steal the ball and drives towards the other end of the court with nothing between him and the basket.
The path is so clear the Drummond throws a peace sign right before he approaches the rim, and goes for a massive dunk, leaving the crowd in splits.
The crowd and the Nets bench are up on their feet as they cant stop laughing at what just happened. The Nets seems to be making the best out of it as they call a time-out and give a standing ovation to Drummond who is approaching them with an almost straight face, as if nothing really happened and as if he didn’t really make the funniest plays in the history of the arena. Some users on social media also pointed out that it could’ve been one of the worst travels, but that didn’t happen, and Drummond got his points, including a bunch of mixed reactions on twitter.
