The New York Knicks seem to be in a healthy position making some roster changes, approaching trade deadline on February 10. Among other players, Julius Randle is one marquee name which has also popped up. From having altercation with fans, media and opposition players, it seems like the reigning Most Improved Player has landed himself into more trouble after a video of him getting involved in a heated exchange with Knicks’ assistant coach has gone viral.
To those who are not aware, the New York Knicks blew away a 22-point lead against LeBron James and Malik Monk led Lakers in their most recent encounter. Being placed 12th in the Eastern Conference before locking horns against the purple and gold army at Crypto.com Arena, a loss has hampered their chance of making it into the playoff berths even more. Julius Randle gets into heated exchange with Assistant coach
While RJ Barrett scored game-high 36 points, including the clutch game-equalizing 3-pointer, Randle managed to score a double-double with 32 points and 16 rebounds. Moreover, the Knicks managed to score 42 points in the first quarter, which was ironically their best in the 2021-22 season so far.
Although, Julius Randle has been in decent form for Tom Thibodeau’s Knicks yet his behaviour hasn’t been quite appreciated in the recent months. The relationship between the marquee player and home fans took a hit when the former party decided to show a ‘thumbs down’ whilst the home crowd booed him. After which, he went onto get into a heated exchange with a reporter questioning his trade rumors.
Followed by another incident in the video, where he gets into another heated exchange with his own team’s assistant coach. Will this go onto hamper his change of being traded away from New York? Remains to be seen.

That being said, on one hand where there are trade clouds right on top of Randle’s head, he has managed to average more than 18 points and 10 rebounds per game in the 2021-22 season.
