Carmelo Anthony is one of the most prolific scorers in NBA history. The 10-time All-Star and 2012-13 scoring champion has amassed over 27,000 points in his 19-year career. He has also won three Olympic gold medals with Team USA and was part of the legendary 2003 draft class that included LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.
However, Anthony has also faced some challenges in his career, especially in recent years. He has bounced around several teams since leaving the New York Knicks in 2017 and has struggled to find a consistent role and fit in the modern NBA. He has also been plagued by injuries and age and has seen his production and efficiency decline.
Anthony played for the Los Angeles Lakers last season, where he reunited with his longtime friend LeBron James and hoped to win his first NBA championship. However, the Lakers didn’t make it to the playoffs and decided to let Anthony become a free agent at the end of the season.
Carmelo Anthony has not retired yet
According to a report by Sporting News, Carmelo Anthony is not planning to retire anytime soon. He said that he loves the game and is still training and staying ready for any opportunity that may arise. He also said that he will announce his retirement himself when the time comes, and not through any rumors or whispers.
“I’m going to tell you that right now: You ain’t going to hear no whispers,” Anthony said when asked about retirement. “You’re going to hear it straight from me.”
Anthony also said that he is enjoying spending more time with his family and watching his son Kiyan play basketball. He recently attended a high school game between Kiyan’s team and Bronny James’ team, where he was interviewed by ESPN’s Malika Andrews.
“These are the things for a long time I didn’t have a chance to do, so now I can be that father and the man that I need to be,” Anthony said.

Carmelo Anthony has no offers from NBA teams

Despite his desire to continue playing, Anthony has not received any offers from NBA teams so far this season. He remains a free agent and there are no indications that any team is interested in signing him.
Anthony averaged 13.3 points and 4.2 rebounds per game for the Lakers last season, shooting 40.9 percent from three-point range. He was a valuable bench scorer and veteran leader for the team, but he also had some defensive limitations and inconsistency issues.
At 38 years old, Anthony is not likely to improve his game or adapt to a different role. He is best suited as a stretch four who can space the floor and provide some scoring punch off the bench. However, most teams are looking for younger players with more upside or defensive versatility.
