Did Kemba Walker request a Trade Deal from the New York Knicks after getting crossed over on the rotation list?
Kemba Walker
Everyone has the same question that “why hasn’t Kemba Walker been traded yet?” but there’s no answer. Earlier this week as per the reports, the New York Knicks Head coach Tom Thibodeau didn’t just take Kemba out of the rating Line-up but altogether from the Knicks rotations.
It is evident that Kemba right now is not what he used to be but the man still knows how to play. Thibodeau has clearly made his mind to not let Kemba back on the bench.
The New York Knicks are rebuilding a team with young players who can prove to be an asset in the long run and the head coach is taking some hard and uncompromising decisions for the sake of the team.
Did Kemba Walker request a trade deal?
The answer to this is still quite vague because facts being considered Kemba Walker was born and brought up in New York, and it has been his dream to play for the Knicks but since his trade this season from the Boston Celtics he has been hitting low and low average with each match. So, why would he request a transfer deal when he is with his dream deal?
The reason is simple that the Knicks aren’t satisfied with Kemba Walker. Walker was traded to add more substance to the team as a veteran but with a continuous decrement in his performance level, and with no scope of improvement in sight Tom totally grossed out Walker’s name on the list.
In a press conference after being removed from the roster, Kemba was asked whether he would still stay at the Knicks. The 31-year-old replied, “I want to play. I don’t know. So it is what it is. I don’t know what the future holds, you know? I do feel like I have a lot to give still. I don’t know. That’s up to these guys.”
Since November 26th Kemba didn’t play any match for the Knicks until the NBA All-Star took on the court against his former team the Boston Celtics on Saturday where he dropped 29 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. Well, it’s been a while since he felt the adrenaline rush and it did well to him.
The Knicks are looking for possible trade options for Kemba Walker as there seems to be no future for him at the Knicks franchise. His talents are obviously not valued because he has hit an unproductive slump and the franchise is not ready to wait and support.
As of December 15th, Kemba Walker has become eligible for trade. So, even if Kemba Walker decides to get traded to a place where he fits better and is needed then it wouldn’t be scandalous.
Why stay where you are not valued?
