Around the year 2019, Boston Celtics had the most number of championships in NBA history. Moreover the iconic team had great starters like Kyrie Irving, Gordan Hayward etc which made the team look near to invincible. Today Celtics is in a completely different shape which no one expects a team like the Celtics to be in.
This struggle of point guard position for the Celtics has not been new and was started when Anthony Davis hit the trade market and the General Manager of Celtics was arranging everything he could to get his hands on Davis which didn’t work out much resulting Young and energetic big man joining the Los Angeles Lakers. Since then the team has been on the hunt for this position and they do need to find out which has made former players like Bob Cousy concerned as well.
The former Celtics point guard and legend Bob Cousy even looks concerned about the team’s performance this season and especially with the point guard position of the game.
Bob Cousy criticises Celtics for its terrible tactics
Bob during the interview has commented on how the Celtics as a team should be in the NBA legend did make valid points with regards to the inability of Celtics management to handle star players like James Harden, Kyrie Irving, Anthony Davis who later went to join other teams in the league with Celtics having no star player left in their roster.
“It doesn’t look like we’re going to be hanging banner No. 18 any time soon. I hate to bring it back to a point guard but … you don’t have that control. When we got a lead of 6-8 points, that was when I would take it home. I just would not allow us to lose the lead. They had one in Kyrie, but he was a head case. They potentially had one in Kemba, although Kemba was a shooting guard more than a point guard,” Cousy said. “You need a penetrating point guard at that point who is a threat and then he passes off to the Tatums and the Browns.”– Cousy during the interview.

Current Scenario of Boston Celtics
Boston currently ranks at 10th position in the NBA points table the team largely lacks in its late-game match and had initiated a lot of legendary players like Dennis Johnson and Rajon Rando. The team, however, in today’s date lacks a playmaker and Celtics management should try and should realize it as soon as possible.
